Well, right now I’m an associate professor at the University of Buffalo. I’m also a doctor, having received my doctoral degree from I also direct the SLM program at the University of Buffalo. I have written a lot of books and articles dealing with various aspects of school library media programs. I’ve received grants worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. I’ve been a faculty member at UB for six years and on the faculty at the University of South Florida, the University of Kentucky, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Murray State University. I’ve had over 20 years of experience in K-12 schools, primarily in Florida, but I’ve has also worked overseas—in the Peace Corps in Nepal, which shows I have a distinct humanitarian bias, as does the grants I’ve received. Just so you know, humanitarianism is an ideology based on the perceived needs of humanity, but no one can agree just what those needs are. This liberal streak shows in my work. Oh, and I’ve also worked in a U.S. Department of Defense Dependents elementary school in Hanau, Germany, and in an international school in Lugano, Switzerland. Oh, and by the way, you can check out all this stuff in the subheadings below.”

“If someone wanted to know this stuff about me, Dr. Kay Bishop, they could check this site out:” http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/aasl/aaslpubsandjournals/kqweb/kqarchives/v33/332Winklebleck.cfm#Author

http://www.gse.buffalo.edu/faculty/viewfaculty.asp?id=119

Extended Bibliography

“Would you like to know more? No, seriously: I sit on numerous associations and hob knob with the leaders of your profession. Therefore, I probably have some influence on your program, and consequently, my long, iron reach spreads to the deepest corners of your media center. Just remember, I’m a professor, I run a lot of programs and grants, such as the school library media program at the University of Buffalo, I know a lot of other people through my various associations, and I’ve written a ton of stuff, as you can see above. I’ve received a lot of rewards and you wouldn’t believe the lack of room on my mantle piece from all the honors I’ve received. Also, I’m such a star in the library media world, that graduate students in towns I’ve never visited, make 14-page-long presentations about me!”

Links to more information:

http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/aasl/aaslpubsandjournals/kqweb/kqarchives/v33/332Winklebleck.cfm#Author

http://www.gse.buffalo.edu/faculty/viewfaculty.asp?id=119

http://www.gse.buffalo.edu/faculty/viewresearch.asp?id=119
